Michael Ashford, B.A.
General Manager
Michael has worked extensively in management and consulting roles associated with the
community and government sectors.
Michael is an experienced mediator, trainer and group facilitator. He has played a pivotal
role in the development of mediation and other dispute resolution services for the general
community and community & government organisations.
Maryse Street, M.A. Counselling
Family Program Manager
Maryse has a counselling, mediation and conciliation background and has worked
extensively with separating families, step-families, children of all ages, family violence,
difficult contact arrangements and child refusal.
Megan Kube, Dip. Small Business Management, Cert IV Training &
Assessment, Cert IV E-Business
Office Manager
Megan has extensive experience in office management and co-ordinates the running of
Positive Solutions. She obtained her Diploma of Small Business Management in 2003 and
is a sessional teacher at TAFE in the Small Business section. Megan was appointed as a
Justice of the Peace in 1995, and joined the Positive Solutions team in 1998.
Genee Louden
Administrative Assistant
Genee has an extensive background in administration in the private sector. She assists in
the day-to-day operations of the organisation. Genee joined the Positive Solutions team
in 2005.
Peter Berends, B. Ed. Stud. Grad. Dip. Counselling Studies (Dean’s

Regional Family Dispute Resolution (RFDR) Co-ordinator
Peter has extensive Australia-wide experience in teaching (secondary and tertiary) and in
middle management. His counselling experience includes high school, church and
generalist practices in Queensland; road trauma counsellor at the Launceston General
Hospital; and private practice. He also works as a consultant to a counselling practice in
the North-West of Tasmania. For some years he has lectured in the fields of education,
counselling and theology in tertiary institutions. Peter joined the Positive Solutions team
in 2006.

Howard Colvin B. Ed. (Hons), Dip. Teach. (TAFE & Voc. Ed.),
Mediation, Negotiation and Facilitation training, Mechanical Engineering,
Fitting & Machining and Welding certificates
Howard is a community development professional with extensive experience in the
not-for-profit, education and natural resource management sectors. His career experience
also spans roles in primary, extractive and transport industries, youth justice, health
service delivery, community disaster recovery and road user training and safety programs.
Howard joined Positive Solutions in 2006.
Scott Jordan, Bachelor Counselling & Human Change
Counsellor
Scott is employed at Positive Solutions as a counsellor. He has been a counsellor in
private practice both in Sydney and Hobart for the past five years, after more than 20
years in the corporate Information Technology field.
Scott works to increase the range of healthy coping skills we all need to balance our lives.
A large part of Scott's work is focused towards resolving family of origin issues which
impact on relationship, confidence and self-esteem.
Scott joined the Positive Solutions team in 2007.
Michael Longbottom, B.A., LL.B., Cert IV Community Mediation
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
Michael is a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. He is an experienced legal practitioner,
specialising in family law, who is approved by the Law Society of Tasmania as a mediator.
Michael joined the Positive Solutions team in 2001.
Stephen Osborne, B.A., Mediation Training, Cert IV Assessment &
Workplace Training
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Mediator and Trainer
Steve is currently working with Positive Solutions as a Family Dispute Resolution
Practitioner, community mediator, facilitator and trainer. Through his previous and
current work with Community Corrections, Dept of Health & Community Welfare and
Colony 47, Steve has had experience in working with a variety of children, young persons
and families. He has a special interest in victim/offender mediation, and in conducting
workshops on bullying and harassment.
Steve joined the Positive Solutions team in 1998.

Maggie Peart, Cert IV in Community Mediation, Grad. Cert.
Counselling, Masters of Counselling
Counsellor and Mediator
Maggie is a graduate of our first Certificate IV in Community Mediation course. She works
in our Launceston office on a sessional basis as a counsellor and mediator, conducting
workplace, community and family mediations.
Maggie completed her Masters degree in Berkeley, California, in 2006 and is particularly
interested in "inner-child" therapy.
Maggie joined the Positive Solutions team in 2004.
Charles Woodhouse, M.A., LL.B., Mediation Training
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner
Charles comes from a legal background, and is an experienced Family Dispute Resolution
Practitioner. He also has experience in workplace and community mediations and
facilitations. Charles joined the Positive Solutions team in 1996.

Olivia Rundle, B.A., LL.B.
Family Dispute Resolution Officer
Olivia has a background in law and practiced as a legal practitioner in the late 1990s before
working in academia for a number of years. She undertook mediation training at Positive
Solution in 2001.
Olivia has written a thesis that examines lawyer perspectives of court-connected
mediation, which is currently in the final stages of completion and examination. Olivia
continues to teach undergraduate law students at the University of Tasmania about
dispute resolution.
Olivia is married and has two children. She considers it a privilege to be granted the
opportunity to assist clients in the management and resolution of conflict within their
families. She commenced working with Positive Solutions in April 2008.
Chris Street, B.Ed (Hons), Grad Dip Counselling
Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor
Chris specialises in relationship enhancement for couples. He has extensive experience
in working with men and relationships, and all areas of personal growth work.
Chris has worked with many of the most respected counselling organisations in
Tasmania as a counsellor, clinical supervisor, and in management and professional
development (especially in family violence issues). He is also available for EAP and clinical
supervision.
Chris joined the Positive Solutions team in 2008.
